National Championships - SCYC – Race 8

Full Results - Race 8

Race 8 started in a Force 1 to 2  Mike Senior and Graham Nelson started quickly and led around the windward mark from Richard Estaugh and Simon Potts with Ian Platt and Matthew Speight from Bolton SC in third. The next Irish GP14 President, Hugh Gill and Stephen Boyle from Sutton SC, finally showed some of their normal pace to round 4^th, closely followed by Graham Flynn and Franck Nickless from Bartley SC. Despite the wind fluctuating up and down these place remained the same until the end of the race, virtually sealing the Championship for Mike and Graham.

The Silver Fleet medals were wone by Simon Pritchard-Jones and Ellen Milner from Budworth SC with Bob Baldwin and Spencer Meyer from Warsash SC collecting the Bronze Fleet medals.

Moment of the Race:
Ian and Emma Sinclair decided that they were having such a bad race that they would park at the leeward mark and watch, in Ian’s words, “How the good guys do it!”. They then started in Race 4 and finished 44^th one of their worst results. So you didn’t watch very well, did you Ian!
