Ian's message

In 2003, the yachting press and yachting community at large were in awe of our 2003 World Championship entry level of 181 boats. With a total of 362 competitors, this has placed the G.P.14 third in the Yachts and Yachting league table of 192 classes, preceded only by junior single handed classes. The G.P.14 is now TOP of the senior classes, a tribute to all our members who took part in that landmark event.

Have you got brilliant memories of Abersoch 2003? Well let’s do it again in 2004. Some unfortunate competitors were unable to attend last year's Worlds: we have had their assurance that they will not be making the same mistake twice. With the addition of these competitors plus many of our well satisfied U.K. entries from last year, the 2004 National Championship at Abersoch has got the making of another most memorable event.

The 2004 National Championship will have a similar race format to last year; time managed races will be the order of the day, keeping the race day to reasonable times and making sure we don’t forget our family and friends ashore; they will be waiting for the party to start as soon as we return. Great racing afloat and fun ashore, that’s what G.P.14 National Championship sailing is all about.

Keep updated on this year’s Nationals news by regularly visiting our National Championship web page. 31,000 visitors viewed the World Championship page, this must have been a record for any class association. The National Championship web page will be regularly updated throughout the build-up to the championship with relevant information, the current entry list, competitors/members views, plus lots more information on any G.P.14 championship topic you choose to mention.

Don’t forget to post your completed entry form and deposit TODAY!! Great sailing!
See you at Abersoch

Regards,
Ian Sinclair
Championship Chairman.
