Introducing ......

The Bumwigs are (from left to right): Jamie Harrison, Richard Bostock, Chris Boylan, Pete Watson, Stuart Ward, Michael Conley.

Ask anyone who was at the Inlands at Bala Sailing Club in May 2002 what one of the highlights of the event was and they will probably say the Saturday night entertainment as supplied by THE BUMWIGS.

The band has been booked to play at Abersoch during the opening ceremony on Sunday, as well as the INTERNATIONAL TALENT NIGHT on Monday and on the Friday night festivities.

The Bumwigs originally came to fruition at Winstanley College, near Wigan, when they were asked to play at the College's Cabaret Evening one hot summer's night back in June of 2001. Since then they have expanded their repertoire considerably, refined their image, their music and have arguably become the Northwest's premier cabaret band.

They are :

Michael Conley - Lead Vocals/Rhythm Guitar

Mike is Mr Cool. His laid back style of singing gives a stark contrast to that of Stuart and therefore provides the band with a much needed balance. His versatility and ability to switch from soul to rock singing allows The Bumwigs to cover many genres of music.

Stuart Ward - Lead Vocals/Rhythm Guitar

Stuart's energetic performances never fail to capture the audience's attention. He thrives in his role as band leader, which provides him with the opportunity to display his showmanship to full effect. Stuarts vocal range is quite simply astounding, a quality that establishes him as both a performer and a musician.

Peter Watson - Piano/Keyboards

Pete's abilities are unquestionable, his perfected virtuoso style of playing means that performance comes as second nature to him. His vast theoretical knowledge of music provides the band with the solid backing it requires. He is currently studying music at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts.

Richard Bostock - Lead Guitar

Ric is the spiritual, musical and administrative heart of this band. His versatility on guitar, as well as his capacity for recognising the kind of songs that audiences want to hear, has allowed the Bumwigs to evolve from a simple college rock band to the professional outfit that they are today. What this boy can't do with twenty-four frets and six strings is not worth knowing.

Chris Boylan - Percussion

Chris is the driving force behind the band's enthusiastic performance style. Having played in numerous Show Bands, Soul Bands and Alternative Rock Bands his experience is the key to his talent and the quality of his performance. A truly professional musician.

Jamie Harrison - Bass

Jamie has recently completed tours of Barcelona and South Africa with future dates in Arizona later this year. Accompanied by Chris, he helps to reinforce the solid foundation that the rest of the band is built upon. His reliability in performance is second only to his faultless technique.
